The largest ship in the world, the Oasis of the Seas has transformed the way people look at cruising. Much like an amusement park, Royal Caribbean's newest ships Oasis of the Seas and Allure of the Seas are made up of several "themes".
On Oasis of the Seas one can spend the afternoon enjoying a walk on the Oasis Boardwalk, ride the merry-go-round and eat at Johnny Rockets. Then take a dip in the pool and go surfing! Oh and did I mention there is no need to leave your ship to go zip-lining? That's right, they have one of those as well, right on the ship.
Later at night, visitors can take a walk on Oasis's Central Park. With real trees, plants and flowers, the center of the ship is transformed into a small park. Lined with Central Park Staterooms on the side, as if they are rising buildings from the big city. At the base, Central Park is surrounded by fancy restaurants and shops. A bar and outdoor music can be found nightly at Oasis of the Seas Central Park.
But that's not all. Oasis boasts the largest theater with lavish Broadway Shows like Hairspray and others which play nightly to a packed house of more than 1000 attendees.
The outdoor Aqua Theater is home to daily and nightly entertainment. If you're one of the lucky people with a Boardwalk Stateroom, you'll be enjoying nightly shows from your balcony room. Well worth the price of the cabin.
Oh, did I mention Oasis of the Seas has an indoor Ice Rink? With some great ice skating shows too. How they managed to fit all this into a cruise ship is beyond me, but Oasis of the Seas is a fun place to be.
Oasis of the Seas has two schedules each year, and 7-day Eastern and Western Caribbean Cruise. At the Eastern route, it visits the ports of St. Thomas (U.S. Virgin Islands) then heads to St. Maarten/St.Marten, then finally at the Bahamas, where you'r only a small water taxi away from the grand resort of Atlantis.
No matter which ship you sail, Oasis of the Seas or Allure of the Seas, one thing is for sure, it will be a trip to remember!
